Yoga is a great way to relax, which is essential when you welcome a new baby into your family. While you may think that you do not have time to enjoy yoga with your new child, you do! Incorporating your baby into your yoga routine can help you two to connect and relax together. Try these baby and me yoga poses with your new bundle of joy.
- Warm up: Cat/cow – warm up your spine with your baby by placing your hands directly beneath your shoulders and knees beneath the hips. Place your baby between your hands on their back and breath deeply while doing several rounds of cat/cow.
- Release: Child’s pose – lower onto your forearms and give your baby a kiss on their belly. Widen your knees and sit back on your heels and exhale, extending your arms to frame your baby.
- Strengthen: High plank – put your hands on either side of your baby and keep your body straight and strong while engaging your core. Smile down at your baby and breathe deeply for 5 inhales and exhales.
