Your facial cleanser is full of harsh chemicals. Because your skin is an organ, not a barrier, your body absorbs these chemicals each time you use it. Scary right? To cleanse your skin without harming your body, use these substitutes.
- Cleanser: With one teaspoon of either raw honey or oil, you can grab up all the dirt and grime on your face. Simply massage the substance onto your skin and rinse with warm water.
- Exfoliate: Clean away dead skin with a mixture of either one part baking soda and one part water for oily skin, or one part baking soda and one part oil for dry skin. Massage onto your skin for one minute, and then wipe it away with a warm washcloth.
- Toner: Balance your skin and rid is of impurities by blending two parts witch hazel with one part unfiltered apple cider vinegar. Apply to your skin after you cleanse it. Green tea is another great toner option.
